Air Traffic Kites and Games - Innova Guide
Innova's Disc Ratings
Innova bases their ratings on 4 main categories,
Speed, Glide, Turn and Fade. Innova test's their discs using
a right-hand back hand throw.
Speed rates how fast the disc can fly through air. The discs are set on a scale of 1 through 13, with 13 being the fastest. Slower discs require more power to gain distance but reduce the risk of over shooting the target.
Glide shows the disc's ability to maintain loft during flight, thus providing greater distances. Glide is set on a scale of 1 through 7 with 7 having the most glide. Player new to the game should use discs with a high glide rating to achieve more distance.
Turn describes the discs tendency to turn to the right during the initial and high-speed part of its flight. Turn is rated on a scale of +1 through -5, with -5 having the most turn. Negative numbers tend to be easier for new players and roller shots. The Turn rating relates to the understability of a disc.
Fade measures the disc's tendency to fade to the left as it looses speed toward the end of its flight. Fade is measured on a scale of 0 through 5, with 5 having the largest fade. Discs measured at a 0 rating are considered stable and have a straighter flight than other discs.
